Dr Mehbub Anwar is an early career researcher, having completed his PhD in traveller choice modelling at the University of Wollongong (UOW) in 2014. Prior to attending UOW as a PhD candidate, he obtained his Bachelor of Urban and Rural Planning degree from Khulna University, Bangladesh, and Master of Engineering degree from Hiroshima University, Japan.
Dr Anwar has extensive experience in structural equation modelling (SEM), discrete choice modelling (DCM) and crowd simulation using computer based software such as Nlogit, AMOS, SPSS, MassMotion. He has also a long experience to handle large and comprehensive dataset such as Household Travel Survey, Sydney.
Since 2014, Dr Anwar has been working as an Associate Research Fellow in the Rail Logistics Laboratory (RLL) at SMART. He is responsible for developing the Rail Logistics portfolio, and regularly presenting modules in masterclasses. In addition, he is also responsible for conducting research and developing research-related materials within the areas of Rail Logistics with appropriate guidance from industry partners.
Currently, Dr Anwar is focusing on four domains of research: (1) social network approaches in organisational performance; (2) customer choice behavior analysis; (3) asset management in rail services; and (4) crowd dynamics.
Before joining at UOW, Dr Anwar experienced 10 years working and teaching experiences at a university level.
